Jungle Justice and Credible Justice: Between Government and Governed
5 years back, it was "ALU 4: When five University Students were lynched to death by the ALU community, in Porthacourt, upon a false alarm of phone theft, which was later found not true, the four, were razed to death before the eyes of their mother, in a situation termed Jungle Justice by Niccolo's Machiavelli.
Months back, it was in Kilanko Street, Ilorin, where a Young Lady was beaten blue-black and later razed to death, upon alleged with child kidnapping: She was alleged to have napped two boys from Arabic school, before she was caught and today the lady is no more, she was Jungle Justicated.
And the last one was that of the Sagamu, Ogun State case, where a Small Boy was alleged with stealing of bread and beans cake( Akara), he was beaten to a point, that he lost one of his eyes to lynching, by Jungle Justice.
But the truth is that, Jungle Justice may not go,not until the Government practice credible Justice, justice of favouritism is shun at and credible justice of Patriotism is uphold.
What and where is the present status of the Lagos-based Evans the kidnapper's case is? What has happened to the "Soka" in Ibadan case? The Clifford Oji in Oshodi ,the Child trafficking case in Abeokuta and Benin et all., ? Men of Nigeria Police can't be trusted, they have called blue to be red on several occasion, to the extent that, the governed have no trust in the government, leadership tenacity lost from the alpha to the omega, broom now without it cull.
However, we want to enjoin all and sundry to be Just: Let the Government bring back the trust, as it was in the Awo, Zik and Ahamdu Bello's era. The Governed should be calm to let credible justice take it course, because some of the alleged cases, do turn to be false nd let all men of the underworld desist from underworld activities because hell is real.
