*Repair the damaged part of old Ogbomoso-Ilorin Express to prevent further loss of lives and properties - IEYDA makes a passionate call to Federal and State Government*
The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association *(IEYDA)* make a passionate call to the Federal and State Government for immediate intervention on the damaged part of the old Ogbomoso-Ilorin Express Way to prevent further loss of lives and properties.
The Association made the call at the site of the damaged road at Budo-Egba, Asa local government of Kwara State when the members of the Associations visited the site *today, Sunday 28th April, 2019* to put in place temporary safety measures to alarm motorists of the danger ahead.
The *National President* of IEYDA, *Alh. Abdullahi Babatunde Salaudeen* appreciated the Federal and State Government for their efforts in time past to make the road motorable. He then appealed to the Authorities of *Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA)* and *Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency (KWARMA)* to please use their good offices in fixing the damaged portion of the old express way as it is now becoming a death trap for motorists.
The *National Publicity Secretary* of IEYDA, *Alh. Mohammed Uthman Jagunma* in his own remarks called for the construction of a more wider drainage at the old express road, to make the channelization of water during rainfall smooth and thereby prevent loss of lives and properties. He also called on the people of Budo Egba Village and Otte Village to not leave everything to the government, and charged them to ensure that the waterways are always clean and not blocked by sand or dirt.
The *Chairman* of *Budo Egba Youth Development Association, Mr. Abdulganiyu Idiaro* appreciated the Executives and Members of IEYDA for their efforts. He also appreciated the Federal and State Governments for their efforts and appealed for their immediate intervention in the repair of the damaged part of the road that has now become a death trap. According to him, the people of Budo-Agba are always doing their bests in ensuring the cleaningness of the drainages.
The *Chairman* of *Otte Youth Development Association, Mr. Ishola Saka* who was also on ground appreciated IEYDA, the State and Federal Government. He then explained that the major problem of the old Ogbomoso-Ilorin Express road was that the drainages are too small and tight to channel rainwater to rivers. He then called for the expansion of the drainages and the construction of bridges to make flow of water easy.
One of the elders of Budo-Egba Village, *Alh. Sanni Akanbi Ibrahim,* who was a former Education Secretary of Asa Local Government Council appreciated the State and Federal Governments for their efforts on the old express way and appealed to them to come to the aid of the people of the village and motorists once again to prevent loss of lives and properties.
