A group of persons identified to be Kwara United Fans Club members in Ilorin on Sunday attacked members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) covering Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match day 19 encounter between Kwara United and Rivers United at the Kwara Stadium, Complex.
The ugly incident occurred during the post match interview with Kwara United Coach, Abubakar Bala when the miscreants forcefully disrupt the exercise and attacked some of the sports writers.
The situation however led to personal attacked on some members of the Sports Writers, which includes Jimoh Bashir, Yusuf Feruke of The Herald Newspaper and Toyin Saheed of Sobi FM.
The mayhem, which lasted for about twenty five minutes left no injuries to any of the journalists, however, one of the journalists have the screen of his mobile phone broken after the ugly scenes.
Some of the journalists attacked are from Channels Television, Sobi FM, The Herald Newspaper, National Pilot, Royal FM, Kwara Television, NTA and among others.
There was no damage to any equipment of the attacked newsmen.
