Kwara Assembly passes Kwara United Management Corporation Bill...confirms Taiye Eleja as KWSIEC Boss

The Kwara United Football Management Bill 2019 has been passed into law by the State House of Assembly.

Under the law, the darling club is now has separate management Corporation and Board to ensure effective management of the affairs of the football club.

The law equally established a board consisting of chairman and other members with a tenure of 4 years and can be renewed by the State Governor.

It also provides means through which the football club could be funded as it  hitherto relied on executive approval for its funding.

This according to the law can be through budgeting allocation and partnership with sporting agencies and marketers.

The chairman of the Board must now be a seasoned footballer, while the Executive Secretary must be  from the State Ministry of Youths and Sports.

The Speaker, Dr Ali Ahmad while speaking, said the Bill was long over due and expressed confidence, that with the passage of the bill, the state darling club would have improved performance in the nation's premier league.

Meanwhile, the legislature has finally confirmed the proposed chairman of the state Independent Electoral Commission Alhaji Taiye Banu Eleja.

It would be recalled that the lawmakers had on Wednesday stood down his confirmation due to his non appearance at the Floor of the House.

Most Members described his nomination as round peg in a round hole in both character and requisite experience and urged the House to confirm his nomination.
