ACTION AT COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, ILORIN
CONGRESS HELD ON FRIDAY 10 TH MAY 2019 ON COEASU STRIKE
It was with great displeasure that we receive a notification of indefinite
Strike action by the CoEASU kwara State College of Education, Ilorin.
Speaking with executives of the union (CoEASU) the P.RO on behalf of
others says the lecturers of the college have not received subvention since
September 2018 til date. then becomes the decision of the staff to embark
on strike in order to show their grievances if their yearning and aspiration are
not meant, after the pronouncement of the strike, the students were about to foment trouble before NANS intervention which turns the proposed protest to congress. It is pertinent to note that the welfare of the students remain our utmost priority
However, we want to clearly state that that we are students who value peace and
Oderliness in the state. it is on that note that the leadership of NANS Kwara celebrate our Governor Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed as peace ambassador for all Nigeria students. We want to reiterate our unflinching support and gusto for the actualization of Kwara state of our dream.
In the light of this, we wish to State that the negatively of not being on school when when necessary will be a
detriment to the lives of students.
Our Demands
1, that our dear Governor Should solve all salary issues with the staff with immediate effect
2, that the propose strike by our lecturers and non academics staff should not hold
3, that 91% backlog of salaries should be paid with immediate effect
4. Accept workers demands for the immediate implementation of 2014 to date financial backlog promotion
On the last note, the congress appreciates the maturity and good leadership display by the provost college of education Ilorin, we urge all students to be calm and maintain proper decorum while we anticipate our dear governor's response on our demands
