*Sacking of Workers Allegations are Misleading*
The media space has been flooded with series of misleading and divisive information concerning the eleventh hour appointments carried out by the former governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed and the reaction of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. It is important to state the governor's position and clear the air of misconceptions.
The governor has requested that these appointments called 'sunset appointment' be examined to ensure that they meet the basic requirements and qualifications of the offices. Nobody was sacked as wrongly projected.
There has been similar situations recently as seen in the case of Ogun, Bauchi and some other states where the outgoing governors made late appointments which were terminated by the new governors on assumption of office. However, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq chose a different approach.
It is, however, on record that Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed did not deem it fit to employ them until a few weeks to leaving office. Interestingly, some were employed last week and backdated to November 2018, that is last year.
Since history is written for references and learning, it won't be bad if decisions of the past are brought forward. Recall that Senator Bukola Saraki when he was Governor sacked all Late Governor Lawal's 'sunset appointments' and also demoted some civil servants.
Governor AbdulRazaq promised an all inclusive government and will not renege on his promises. All decisions shall be made in the best interest of Kwarans.
