In accordance with our political philosophy and ideology, we don't celebrate mediocrity because it can never be an option for excellence. Hence, if you see us celebrating an individual, that person must have live footprints on the sand of time.
Fellow compatriots, we have resolved and formally adopted 7TH JULY of every calendar year to celebrate excellence. We have set aside 8TH JULY of every year as a moment where Nigerian youths from across all the divides recognize the giant strides and historic contribution of one of the most outstanding youth leaders the country has ever produced. It is on this premise that I equally want to join millions of our contemporaries out there to celebrate the birthday anniversary of a resourceful leader, a political enigma, a change agent, defender of the defenseless, a phenomenon of our time and generation, a banker of ideas whose words you can take to the bank any day, any time, the centripetal force of Kwara politics, a man of conscience who does not hide under the veil of circumstances to betray his friends and allies, a compassionate leader whose love for his people has no parallel, a sincere and honest leader, a missionary and visionary leader that even his traducers knows that he truly knows his onions, a man who stands by his friends and confidants both in good, difficult and challenging times.
He is truly a blessing to the people of Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole. His ground-breaking achievements and sterling performances as a successful business mogul speaks volumes to all and sundry.
Fellow Kwarans, you will agree with me that indeed the hallmark of a true philanthropist is not just the ability to make noise but also the ability to touch lives positively. He has successfully empowered thousands of youth, women, the less privileged and the poorest of the poor via his quarterly empowerment scheme and lots of other incentives too numerous to mention. He has provided employment opportunities to hundreds of our people.
Nonetheless, I always know you to be a focused and determined leader. I always know you to be a straight forward leader. I always know you to be a goal getter and result oriented individual. I always know you to be a crusader of social justice, equity and fairplay. Your feats are not only glaring but legendary, historical and epochal. Do not compromise your standards for whatsoever reason.
My brother, words may not convey how elated we are especially when we imagine how far we have gone in this journey of life realizing our very humble backgrounds . We can only be grateful to God for His mercies and continue to pray for His blessings, guidance and protection as we forge ahead.
May the new age bring you more wisdom, happiness and strength for greater accomplishments.
