A group of Oyo elders are protesting the nomination of the 27-year-old Oluwaseun Fakorede as a commissioner-nominee by the state governor, Seyi Makinde.
The anti-Fakorede group, which is made up of members and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are protesting Fakorede's nomination because his father had allegedly defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
They claimed Fakorede's father worked against the success of the PDP at the just concluded general elections.
The group, which comprises party leaders, elders and women carrying placards with various inscriptions, reportedly urged lawmakers not to screen Fakorede nor confirm his nomination.
We'll suspend the Gov if care is not taken, PDP elders
