The life and welfare of the common man is lingering and governments are busy replenish the pocket of bourgeoise and drilling the coffers of the proletariat.
The cost of governance has been a threat on the side of citizens and the challenges is escalating which had been dusted the eyes of ordinary. The situation remains stagnant and conveying chaos and irk instead of good living.
The recent presentation of 2020 budget speaks volume on the intention of government to increase Value Added Tax from five to seven point five percent despite the inflation that's rocking economy, the move might flames another hardship. Though kudos to the Federal government on the recent improvement on deflation.
According to my experience, the budget will drill Nigerians because the largest percentage of the budget goes to office holders and it targeted to gets almost 85 percent from revenue generation.
According to the budget statement, the sum of 8.155 trillion was estimated as revenue and 3.7 trillion will be drives out from you and I pocket. Its OK if the available resources will take care of it.
Though, its not a crime for government at all levels to generate revenue if definitely we are serious on developmental projects but I don't think the style should not be like bedbugs who cherish to shock blood without replacement.
Government at all level should stand on their feet to play their part and stop playing game on the life of citizens.
At this juncture, I want to urge both ruling and opposition to create a meaningful and bearable to the life of ordinary by providing the social amenities like adequate water, stable electricity, good roads, health facilities, standard education and among others.
