Christmas: Youngest Commissioner sues for peace, reaches out to Blind Beggars Colony

The  Kwara Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Joana Nnazua Kolo has felicitated the Christian faithfuls on the celebration of Christmas.

Kolo, in a press release made available by his media aide urged the Christians to embrace love and peace, which is the true emblem of what Christmas stands for.

She said it is important to use the festive period to reach out to the less-privileged, who would also love to celebrate the Christmas but are financially incapacitated.

"The birth of Jesus Christ signifies love and peace and that's why I want people to celebrate the Christmas with love and peace, by reaching out to the less-privileged in the community," she said.

In the same light, the commissioner also reached out to the people of blind colony (Koroafoju) in Ilorin where she donated gift items.

The Commissioner, who was in company of Mrs Funmi Omisope, the Executive Director of the  Home Street Kids Initiative (HSKIT), visited the colony of the blind beggars (Koroafoju), where she showed them love by sharing Christmas gifts to them.

Their leader, the Sarkin Makafi, Sanni Mohammed, in a joyful mood, showered her with prayers, just as he thanked the Kwara governor,  for providing them with portable water and road network in the community.

He also urged the commissioner to always emulate the  governor, whom he described as a pathfinder.

It would be recalled, that the commissioner in her magnanimity and philanthropic gesture had visited an orphanage home few months ago, where she took up the responsibilities of an abandoned two months old baby.
