The Kwara State Environmental Workers under the following consultants: Diverse, Alagbede and Transform; have begun a 3-day warning strike to demand their seven months backlog salaries.
The men and women working tirelessly to keep Kwara State clean and healthy were owed salaries dated back to last year and they are yet to be paid. One of the workers who pleaded anonymity spoke to Just Event Online correspondent today said: "We thought it was Kwara State that owed us but it's confirmed that it's the Consultants"
"We, the workers therefore seek Gov. AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman's audience to prove the consultants so as to pay us our backlog salaries".
The consultants contract with the State government were due to elapsed since 2014 but past administration still continue paying them until 2019. The workers however, demand this administration's interference in earnest.
