The Kwara State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Hon. Joana Nnazua Kolo has admonished youths in the state to ensure they shun all forms of social vices that may tarnish their names and that of the state in a press statement made available to this medium Just Event Online
Kolo made this charge on Monday, during the kick off ceremony of the 7th Kwara State Sports Festival tagged "KWASFEST 2020".
She said that His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is on the crusade to make youths in the state deviate from perpetrating all forms of social vices and start embracing positively rewarding activities.
Miss Kolo also described revival of the festival after 15years by Governor AbdulRazaq as another epochal turn of event in the history of sports in the State, noting that the gathering of all the LGAs in the sports festival is a fertilisation and reiteration of the harmony for which the State is known.
The ceremony featured cultural displays by troupes from eight LGAs, march past by each LGA, lighting of the torch of unity and others.
Meanwhile, the Sports Festival commenced fully today with the sporting activities and expected to end on the 1st of February.
