JUBILATIONS IN TOWN AS HON. ISMAIL TIJANI OFFERS SCHOLARSHIP TO AN ORPHAN

Indubitably, education remains the major tool for national socioeconomic development, individual socioeconomic empowerment and poverty eradication.

The above statement was taken into cognisance when a National Assembly member, Hon. Ismail Kayode Tijani, in his relentless efforts to raising the bar of the standard of education in his constituency distributed free UTME forms to outstanding students across his constituency.

This was made known by the spokesperson of Igbaja Righteous Women in Politics (Obirin Rere Ninu Òsèlú), Hajia Kuburat Lawal who revealed that the gesture is part of the parliamentarian's effort to ensuring equal access to tertiary education, especially for the downtrodden in his constituency.

"Interestingly, one of the many beneficiaries of the lawmaker's timely educational assistance is an orphan, Sanni Toheeb, whose late mother, Hajia Ramata Saani was a member of our noble organisation, Igbaja Righteous Women in Politics before her demise late last year," she said.

It's pertinent to note that Hon. Tijani has been using his good office to bring dividend of democracy to the doorstep of every member of his constituency.

"Therefore, we want to express our satisfaction with the promise made by the House of Reps member to  provide scholarship to Toheeb up to university, if he performances well in the forthcoming JAMB examination," She added.

However, the lawmaker said in  his remarks while distributing the free JAMB forms to the beneficiaries that his vision is to empower the youth of his constituency intellectually with a view to making them more productive to Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency in particular and Nigeria in general.

The lawmaker further explained that the beneficiaries were chosen base on merit irrespective of their political, ethnic or religious affiliations.

He therefore appealed to all beneficiaries to study very hard for the forthcoming JAMB examination so as to encourage him to do more for his constituents.
