Title: Effect of Rainstorm in Abayawo, Oloje, Ojagboro, Tegbesun, Lakakanla Community in Ifelodun Local Government in Ilorin and some parts of the State

This Matter of Urgent Public is precipitated on the heavy downpour and the accompanying windstorm of Sunday which caused so much havoc in some parts of Abayawo, Oloje, Tegbesun, Ojagboro, Lakakanla Community in Ifelodun Local Government and other parts of the State where the strong wind blew off roofs of some houses with lots of damages
rendering some of the residents’ homeless while Property worth millions of naira were destroyed by rainstorm. The victims of the incident are now taking refuge in the people and relatives whose house were not affected by the storm.
Although the cost of damage of this natural incident could not be determined as at the time of this report, but information revealed that victims, who were seen making frantic efforts to salvage their belongings, expressed sadness about the devastating effect of the unfortunate incident and is however looking forward to assistance from Government to rehabilitate them.
Request:
In view of this development, it is my prayers that this Honorable House will as a matter of urgent public importance:
a) Invite the attention of the State Government through the State Emergency and Relief Services office to take necessary actions to come to the aid of the affected victims and assist them in alleviating the effects of the destruction.
