Ilorin residents cries out over months power outage 



The residents of Ilorin west local government area of kwara state have decried a month of power outage in the area due to a faulty power breaker in the area.


They stated this while speaking with our staff reporter in Ilorin, the state capital.


The Coordinator of Pakaka feeder Committee, Comrade Ismail Alada, while commenting on the issue pleaded to Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company to replace the faulty breaker in to restore power supply to the communities. 


Comrade Alada who listed the affected areas are Pakata, Ita-Kudimoh, Adeta, Kuntu, Adabata, Alore, Oloje, Abemi, Popo-Giwa, Ita-Ogunbo, Abemi and Abata-Subanu all in Ilorin west local government.


He noted that the economy of the community had been badly affected by the protracted blackout.


Comrade Alada stressed that lives were becoming unbearable to residents as a result of power outage and appealed to the authorities concerned to come to their rescue.


Also speaking, the Secretary of the Committee, Mallam Eleyele said hoodlums had taken advantage of the power outage to attack residents and steal their properties.


Mallam Eleyele frowned at the service of IBEDC Baboko branch which he said has wrecked havoc on the people's welfare.


He lamented the power outage in some places which encouraged crimes in the affected communities in the state and called on the state government to save the communities from total darkness.


Mallam Eleyele therefore implored the management of IBEDC as a matter of urgency to restore a new breaker before led to protest in the areas.
