May Day: Nigerian Workers are mainstay of Nigeria's socioeconomic developments drives

May Day: Oloriegbe Salutes Nigerian Workers, Described them as Mainstay of Nigeria's Socioeconomic Development Drives

The elected Senator to  represent Kwara Central Senatorial district at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, *Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya  Oloriegbe*, today Wednesday 1st May,  2019, described the Nigerian workers as the mainstay of Nigeria's socioeconomic drives that deserves dignified treatments from their employers in order to continue getting the best out of them for the benefit of National developments.

Oloriegbe, in a Press statement issued through his media aide *Bolaji Aladie* to commemorate this year's celebration congratulates the Workers on such befitting day while also commending their fortitude, resilience and doggedness amidst the uninspiring welfarism packages and working conditions they've been working in.

He also pointed out the worker's patience amidst many months of unpaid salaries and necessary incentives in some states which he said bores the hallmark of patriotism and love for the country.

"The Nigerian Public  Workforce is one if not the best in the continent. I say this because hardly can one see in a country like Nigeria, with all God-given necessary resources for development, a situation whereby the very backbone and mainstay of its Socio-economic development drives are continually underpaid, overworked, overlooked and neglected in welfarism and incentives aspects, and despite all these, continues to deliver diligently on the mandate placed in them. This is truly the hallmark of patriotism and selflessness. They really deserved more God willing, the incoming 9th Senate Assembly will work with the Presidency on that."

However, having commended the President Muhammad Buhari's led Federal Government on the signing of a new minimum wage of N30, 000 into law,  he expressed hope that the workers would be inspired and encouraged to continue working with the zeal and zest expected in achieving the country's Socio-economic development dream.

He advised the leaders of the Labour Union to always make their grievances known through dialogue as they've always done saying that embarking on Labour Strikes only has the negative impact of crippling the nation's economy.
