As part of the ongoing implementation of the 2018 financial year budget of the FG, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, President of the Senate, Federal Republic of Nigeria has facilitated yet another Skill Acquisition Training and Empowerment program to the Kwara Central Senatorial District with the Nigeria Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI).
Out of his desires to get youths empowered with self self sustainable programs, Senator Saraki has facilitated a three-day intensive training and empowerment program for 450 participants in some selected skills which include:
1. Coding Technology
2. ICT (Networking) program
3. Catering
4. Make Up
5. Shoes and Bags making
6. Fashion Designing
7. Barbing
8. Photography and Cinematography
9. Painting and Paint Making
10. Event Planning and Gele tying.
As part of the scope of the skill training program, empowerment items are provided and distribution have been done with three first group of participants which are:
Day 1. Coding Technology
Day 2. Make Up Art
Day 3. Photography and Cinematography.
As the program continues tomorrow Thursday 23rd May, 2019, other skills would be considered for mentorship interaction and empowerment items distribution.
While making comments on the effectiveness of the program, participants show appreciations on the sustainable nature of the training and empowerment program and request that such program should be continued as it has potential to reduce unemployment among the youths in the state.
