KWARA SPEAKER MAKES HISTORY, AS EMIR OF ILORIN PROMISES SUPPORT OF TRADITIONAL INSTITUTION

The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi today made history, as the first Speaker of Kwara State, bto lead his colleagues to the BPplace for royal blessing and collaboration.
The Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari who was happy to receive, the entourage promised the unflinching support of the traditional institution towards ensuring dividends of democracy permeates the nooks and crannies of the State.
The Speaker, while commiserating with the Emir, over the demise of his mother, used the opportunity to solicite the support of the traditional institution, noting that it is impossible to achieve the level of success the 9th Assembly targets without the cooperation of the traditional institution and other relevant stakeholders.
He said "we have come for royal blessing, understanding the spiritual significance of the highly revered traditional institution. I appeal for cooperation between the traditional institution and the 9th assembly.
"We want to enlist the support of all stakeholders, towards ensuring we change the narratives of our dear State and its people, it is a must we restore the lost glory of Kwara.
Speaking in the same vein, the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Abubakar Mogaji revealed the Legislators have come to pay a courtesy visit and condole with the Emir of Ilorin over the demise of his mother, and also seek for his royal blessing as they kick off activities of the 9th Assembly.
In his reaction, HRH, the Emir of Ilorin said their coming is significant. Noting that Rt. Hon. Danladi is the first Speaker of Kwara Assembly to come with his colleagues to the palace for royal blessings. The royal father assures that with this step, he is confident the 9th Assembly will make landmark achievements.
The Emir of Ilorin said "I am sure you all know what is on ground, Kwara have never had this kind of young person as a Speaker but it is not how far but how well. I believe his young age will translate to outstanding performance, not how far but how well". The Emir recounts his achievements been a young Judge as a reference to youthful capacity.
His Highness prayed for wisdom and understanding for the Speaker to pilot the affairs of the 9th Assembly to a successful ending.
