*Oloriegbe Chairs Quranic Memorisation Contest*
The Senator-elect for the Kwara Central Senatorial District, *Dr.Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe*, will on Wednesday (June 5, 2019) preside-over the 2nd edition of the annual Quranic Memorisation Competition organised by an Ilorin-based socio-cultural organisation,the "Pakata Patriots", Ilorin.
A statement signed by the Secretary of the organisation, Abubakar Imam, said that the event will hold at the Pakata Multipurpose Town Hall, Ita Uma Area, Ilorin, beginning at 10a.m.
The statement added that the event,which is being organised as part of sustainable efforts targeted at promoting islamic learning and discipline among the younger generations of the people of Pakata Community, will have the Head, Department of Islamic Law, University of Ilorin,Prof.AbdulRasaq Abdulmajeed Alaro, as the Guest Speaker while the Alangua of Ubandawaki Ward, Alhaji Baba Pakata, shall be the father of the Day.
Parents are, therefore, encouraged to attend the event with their children in order to stimulate the interest of the younger ones in the learning of the Holy Quran, which is not only an important aspect of our muslim faith but an eroding significant ingredient of the Ilorin heritage.
