Aisha Ahman Pategi Sues for Grassroots Development


Kwara State Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy affairs, Aisha Ahman Pategi paid a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mr William Nwankwo Alo and Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Mr. Abdullaziz Mashi Abdullahi.

As part of her effort in aligning with the vision and aspiration of the Executive Governor of Kwara state, H.E Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Hon. Commissioner aims to bridge the gap between the Local and Federal government, while seeking collaborations with relevant parastatals and agencies. Their discussions ranged from the topic of minimum wage and labour matters to health challenges in Kwara state and how the Federal government can improve on collaborations with the Kwara state government.

In response, Aisha Ahman Pategi thanked the two Permanent Secretaries for the warm reception and reassured them of H.E Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's commitment in future collaborations with their ministries that will bring succour to the people of grassroots communities in Kwara state. She stated that the importance and impact of Local governments on the growth of a state or the nation cannot be overemphasized.

She reiterated the importance of sufficient funds for community development by the Federal and State governments to the local governments to carryout programmes, projects and policies that foster community development in the grassroots.

Both Permanent Secretaries saluted her zeal and foresightedness in the development of local government and rural urbanization, while assuring Kwara state government of their support and wishing her all the best in her quest to bring development to the local government areas in Kwara State.
