NIPOGA is a biennial sporting competition involving all accredited polytechnics and colleges of technology in Nigeria. These sporting games were organized based on a consensus  among stakeholders to encourage sports competition among all Nigerian accredited polytechnics and
colleges of technology in Nigeria since the year 1976.


NIPOGA was brought into existence to ensure peaceful co-existence among Nigerians, to
discover and nurture sporting talents as well as sustain physically and mentally fit youths in Nigerian
polytechnics and colleges of technology.

This sporting game is also a platform to build a socio-cultural and political bridge of unity and
maintain a harmonious relationship among Nigerians and also invest in youth and generate sponsorship
for talented youth in and out of the country.

The game also provides an avenue to bridge the gap between the students and staff of the
polytechnics.
There are always a variety of game such as table tennis, tennis, badminton, basketball, volley ball, hand ball, scrabbles, chess, football, judo, hockey, squash taekwondo and many more.

The last (19th) edition of NIPOGA was held in Nassarawa State in the year 2017, it was tagged
Nassarawa2017, about four thousand athletes and officials from different part of the country and
81 Polytechnics were present for the games and it was a huge success.

Lagos State Polytechnic won the most medals with 16 gold medals, 16 silvers and 15 bronze medals bringing to
a total of 41 medals.

The 20th Edition is to be hosted by the Kwara State Polytechnic, being the 20th edition. The Institution has put a lot in place in order to make this edition memorable for all.
this will be 20th Edition will be Coordinated and a Remarkable.

About 51 Polytechnics  will be
 participating in this 20th edition of NIPOGA and the opening ceremony is today Saturday 8th February 2020.
