*JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE AGAINST THE ILLEGAL APPOINTMENT OF ACTING VICE CHANCELLOR, LOUD THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF PROFESSOR ABDULRASHEED NA'ALLAH AND CALL EFCC FOR IMMEDIATE PROBE OF ALH. ABDULFATAI AHMED, THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF KWARA STATE*

In response to the message released by the Kwara state government through the commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Abdullah .S. Alikinla concerning the sacking of the incumbent vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrasheed Na'Allah and appointment of an acting vice Cancellor, the  leadership of NANS and Students Union of the University totally condemned the act as illegal, fraudulent, and manipulation of our educational sector. Kwara state university is a very standard and a world class university duely and purposely because of our ever proactive vice Chancellor who has set the pace of excellence for us. Why should a man who has built and made this university a world class one got replaced with laws which are not connected with the rules the University?

Recall that, Alh. Abdulfatai Ahmed the executive Governor of Kwara and enemy of Nigerian Students has neglected the University for years without any subventions. The Vice Chancellor has done well in his capacity to build an enviable learning environment, a world class University and indeed an uninterrupted calendar. Staff of Kwara State University are paid as and when due. This we consider a strong achievements by the Vice Chancellor. It should also be noted that the Governor has never for once attended any of the convocation ceremony in the University. We call on Students, stakeholder, patriotic Kwarans, and well meaning Nigerians to stand against this impunity, injustice lawlessness and disregard for due process.

It was earlier rumored that our hardworking VC, Prof. Na'Allah insisted not to sign subvention of the monies he did not collect nor take part in any acts of documents falsification. As a man of integrity who has sworn not to compromised against all odds and political intimidation, the government has decided to unseat him even when his tenure is expected to last until 27th of July, 2019.

We want to affirmatively state that we the entire Students still recognized and further re-authenticate Professor AbdulRasheed Na'Allah as our Vice Chancellor and vehemently warns the government not to toy with our career.

We are quite aware of some cabinet members of the outgoing Governor who have turned EFCC headquarters to their state council meeting. This is a show of shame, incompetency and an absolute dishonesty to the cause of humanity.

According to the constitution, Government be it federal or state has no right to unilaterally remove or appoint the vice Chancellor without the approval and recommendations from the University Governing Council.

ASUU had gone on strike several times to tackle "excessive incessant"  interference of the government in the affairs o
