Bayelsa State Government employed 904 Casual staff Workers

The Bayelsa State Government has employed 904 casual staff workers. Chairman, State Civil Service Commission, Peter Singabele, disclosed this on Tuesday during the screening exercise and placement of the new staff.

He said the ongoing public service reforms in the state uncovered  fake credentials, age falsification, fraud, grade level and step theft, among other discrepancies.

He said: “People think we are recruiting new staff to the civil service, it’s not a fresh appointment exercise rather it is a formalization of temporary appointment because most of them have been working in ministries, agencies as casual or temporary workers, maybe on a monthly pay of 10,000, some even less.”
